A quick reference for purchasing, warehouse and dispatch teams.
- ISPM 15
- The international plant-health standard addressing raw wood packaging in international trade.
- IPPC
- International Plant Protection Convention. Its mark is part of the recognised wood packaging certification system.
- HT
- The code for conventional heat treatment. It is not a load rating or a moisture specification.
- DH
- The treatment code for dielectric heating.
- MB / SF
- Codes associated with methyl bromide and sulphuryl fluoride fumigation respectively.
- NPPO
- National plant protection organisation: the national authority responsible for plant-health matters.
- Dunnage
- Material used to support, protect or secure cargo. Raw wood dunnage needs its own compliance review.
- UKWPMMP
- UK Wood Packaging Material Marking Programme. Check provider authorisation rather than assuming a seller operates its own treatment facility.
- Euro-size
- A footprint description commonly used for 1200 × 800 mm pallets. It does not itself establish an EPAL-licensed product.
- Point load
- Weight concentrated through a small contact area, such as machinery feet. Tell the supplier where the load bears on the pallet.
- Two-way entry
- A pallet design permitting fork approach from two directions, subject to the actual equipment and construction.
- Racking load
- A loading situation where a pallet is supported on a rack. Suitability depends on the design and the support conditions.
