Hold the questioned packaging
Keep the affected pallet out of the export pick until the issue is resolved. Record why it is questionable: no complete mark, obscured characters, conflicting information or a mark on a detached component. Avoid describing every case as fraud; there may be wear, damage or a supply error to investigate.
Send useful evidence to the supplier
Take a complete view of the pallet and close-ups of the marks on its vertical sides. Add the delivery date, order reference and number of units involved. Explain the intended export route and packing deadline. This lets the supplier investigate the particular delivery instead of answering a generic certification question.
Do not create your own replacement
An office stamp, marker pen or printed label is not an authorised correction. Ask the responsible provider to decide what replacement, treatment or re-marking is appropriate under its system. Keep any resolution tied to the physical units and order. If packing has started, involve the packing operator before moving the goods onto an alternative base.
Prevent the problem on the next order
Agree inspection and marking expectations with the supplier and allow time between delivery and packing. Staff should know whom to contact and where to put questioned stock. If wrapping repeatedly hides marks, review the packing sequence so the recorded inspection takes place before visibility is lost.
