Close-boarded export pallets

Closer deck-board spacing can help support certain cargo formats, but the appropriate arrangement depends on the load and its packaging. Board gaps, thickness and support underneath the boards should be specified together.

Choosing this construction

Closer deck-board spacing can help support certain cargo formats, but the appropriate arrangement depends on the load and its packaging. Board gaps, thickness and support underneath the boards should be specified together.

Match support to the cargo base

Describe whether the cargo comprises bags, small cartons, drums or equipment feet. State where contact occurs and whether a separate load-spreading layer is planned. The supplier can then assess deck coverage in the context of the entire design.

A practical specification example

Small packs may sit awkwardly over wide gaps even when the total load is modest. A close deck may address support needs, but cleanliness, moisture and customer acceptance remain separate questions. Supply a loaded pattern or drawing rather than ordering by appearance.

Treatment and marking for the finished packaging

Tell us where the goods are being packed and their final destination. Include collars, blocking and other raw timber used with the base. Ask for the treatment and marking requirement to be confirmed for the offered construction. Neither entry type, footprint nor new condition is proof of ISPM 15 compliance. Changes after the packaging is supplied should be referred back to the responsible provider.

Request a quotation for the actual job

Send dimensions or a drawing, quantity, cargo weight and support points, handling method and delivery postcode. Add the packing deadline and unloading arrangements. Product design, supply, price and delivery are confirmed against the enquiry. You can contact the team directly; the optional brief builder is available if you want help organising those details.
