Use the exact design designation
A CP number is more specific than “chemical pallet”. Ask the receiving customer which design it requires and whether it requires an EPAL-licensed product. A pallet built to similar dimensions is not automatically the same licensed design. Send a specification or customer instruction with the enquiry.
Different designs can share a footprint
CP3, CP8 and CP9 share a 1140 × 1140 mm outline in EPAL’s product sheets. Their designation remains important because the construction is not determined by that outline alone. Likewise, reversing two dimensions should not be used to decide that two CP types are equivalent. Consult the actual product drawing.
What to specify for the load
Describe the number and dimensions of drums, bags or other packages, their gross weight and their arrangement. Explain how the pallet will be supported and moved. Any dangerous-goods or product-specific requirement needs its own competent assessment; a CP designation or heat-treatment code does not settle it.
Buying new or used CP pallets
Confirm the exact design, condition, marks and acceptance requirements. For used stock, ask about inspection and any repair history. Avoid assuming that one photographed pallet establishes the condition of an entire mixed batch. The offered product, any treatment arrangements and availability must be confirmed.
Export and customer requirements
ISPM 15 concerns plant-health requirements for wood packaging. An EPAL licence, CP designation and customer acceptance specification concern additional product requirements. Check them individually and keep the agreed result with the purchase order. Palletmove’s CP enquiry page provides a direct route to discuss supply of a named type.
