Pallet construction

Heavy-duty export pallets

Heavy duty is a description that needs a design behind it. Cargo weight, point loads, support spans and movement determine the requirement. A thick-looking board or a treatment stamp is not evidence of a safe working load.

Choosing this construction

Heavy duty is a description that needs a design behind it. Cargo weight, point loads, support spans and movement determine the requirement. A thick-looking board or a treatment stamp is not evidence of a safe working load.

Define loads and support conditions

Provide the total loaded weight and show where it bears on the deck. Describe floor storage, fork handling, racking or other support. Obtain product-specific confirmation for each relevant condition and involve a competent designer for unusual loads.

A practical specification example

A machine standing on four small feet loads a pallet differently from evenly distributed cartons of the same mass. Give foot locations and dimensions, lifting points and restraint requirements. Do not select a base from total weight alone.

Treatment and marking for the finished packaging

Tell us where the goods are being packed and their final destination. Include collars, blocking and other raw timber used with the base. Ask for the treatment and marking requirement to be confirmed for the offered construction. Neither entry type, footprint nor new condition is proof of ISPM 15 compliance. Changes after the packaging is supplied should be referred back to the responsible provider.

Request a quotation for the actual job

Send dimensions or a drawing, quantity, cargo weight and support points, handling method and delivery postcode. Add the packing deadline and unloading arrangements. Product design, supply, price and delivery are confirmed against the enquiry. You can contact the team directly; the optional brief builder is available if you want help organising those details.
