Choosing this construction
A skid or base may be chosen to support equipment during packing and transport. Terminology varies, so show the intended construction and handling rather than assuming every supplier means the same thing by skid.
Think through assembly and lifting
Explain how the cargo is placed or assembled on the base, whether it is bolted down and where forks or lifting equipment engage. Include the load’s centre of gravity and any protrusions that affect approach.
A practical specification example
If a base travels within a larger case, specify it as part of that assembly. Internal blocking and fixings can change the support and treatment requirements. An existing photograph is useful context but should be supported by dimensions and an agreed design.
Treatment and marking for the finished packaging
Tell us where the goods are being packed and their final destination. Include collars, blocking and other raw timber used with the base. Ask for the treatment and marking requirement to be confirmed for the offered construction. Neither entry type, footprint nor new condition is proof of ISPM 15 compliance. Changes after the packaging is supplied should be referred back to the responsible provider.
Request a quotation for the actual job
Send dimensions or a drawing, quantity, cargo weight and support points, handling method and delivery postcode. Add the packing deadline and unloading arrangements. Product design, supply, price and delivery are confirmed against the enquiry. You can contact the team directly; the optional brief builder is available if you want help organising those details.
